 Busy plaintiffs’ Personal Injury/ Med Mal firm located in Westbury is seeking a detail oriented and experienced Paralegal for four day work week. Must be able to handle a file from inception to trial. Should have excellent communication skills and be extremely organized. The Ideal candidate’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  drafting bill of particulars, discovery demands and responses, motions and able to support attorneys and team as necessary. A minimum of 2 years’ experience is necessary for consideration. TrialWorks software a plus. Spanish speaking and notary a plus but not required.

Committee Announces Board of Directors Officer Slate, Call for Volunteer Applicants

After much deliberation, the NALS Leadership Identification Committee (LIC) is pleased to present the NALS Board of Directors slate of officers for the 2017-2018 year. Since there are two Board of Director terms expiring in March of 2017, the upcoming ballot will include voting to replace the expiring Directors. The ballot will also include voting for the following officer positions: President and Secretary.

Motivated by some compassionate force, a sense of fairness, or even personal desperation, they took it upon themselves to lobby for changes in laws, rules, regulations, or some similarly bold project at the legal or legislative level. 
 
On April 26, I did a NALS Webinar entitled "Proof That! Improving Your Proofreading Skills One Typo At A Time." Due to some technical difficulties, I was busy running the webinar all by myself and could not answer some of the questions attendees were asking.

IRS Form 990-N Filing Deadline

 

It is that time of year again for tax-exempt organizations with fiscal years ending April 30 and gross receipts of $50,000 or less per year to file the IRS Form 990, also known as the "e-postcard."  You may file now and the deadline for filing is September 15.  Those organizations with calendar years ending December 31 must file by May 15.

NALS of New York--- Call for Nomination 2015-2016 PDF File

As a member of NALS of New York, Inc., you are entitled, and encouraged, to nominate candidates for the positions of treasurer, secretary, vice-president, and president elect of the state association for 2015-16.

Nominees must be members in good standing of NALS. The candidate for president-elect must have served as an elected member of the board for at least one year prior to nomination. Members at large are eligible to hold office.

Nominations may also be made from the floor at the annual meeting.

Elections will take place at the annual meeting scheduled for April 18, 2015, in Central Islip, New York.

Our current president, Antoinette Van Schaick is completing her term at this meeting, and the president-elect, Angela Hennessy, will be moving up to fill the office of President.
